Founder

Tory Erpenbeck, MS

Tory is a landscape consultant and ecologist.

He helps North American gardeners and growers transition from using outdated and harmful but status quo techniques to regenerating the land and using their yards to improve the health of our planet

Along with being a gardener for over 10 years, Tory has a Master of Science degree in Sustainable Design.

During his graduate studies, Tory received landscape architecture training and earned multiple certifications. His research focused on the use of native plants and soil as a solution to the climate crisis.

Tory was born and raised in Northern Kentucky, where he still lives with his partner and their five cats and dog.

Native Yardening performs land regeneration consulting services.

We aim to spread awareness about the ecological benefits of native plants, the dangers of foreign and invasive plants, and practices that promote soil health.

Our Mission

Our mission is to change the status quo for managing yards and private green space.

Lawns are an outdated social symbol and are a major contributor to climate change.

There is no future for lawns.

We believe in healthy native yards that feed the whole ecosystem, including humans.

We want to help empower everyone to give back to the land, achieve food sovereignty, feel connected to nature, and help mitigate the climate crisis.

Social equity & transparency

We believe social equity is essential to sustainability.
